The Worst Anti-Masker And The Most Patient Cop Yet

This is Peter Kwok, a transit cop in British Columbia. He takes
honors as most chill cop in the world as he took abuse from
the most obnoxious anti-mask Karen in the world. 

 For the past year, we've seen so many anti-maskers causing scenes and filming themselves that it's a cliche.  

It's almost like there's some kind of competition to see which one is the most obnoxious.

And.....We have a winner! 

Last December 5, a woman in British Columbia, Canada, riding the Canada Line, refused to wear a mask, and boy did it escalate!

While we're handing out awards, we're going to concur with the website Vancouverisawesome.com and award the transit cop involved, Peter Kwok, in this mess the prize for being the most composed cop in Canada, if not the world.

To set it up, the transit cops were doing mask compliance checks because of a British Columbia rule issued in November that said everybody in public spaces had to wear masks to help limit the spread of Covid. 

Valerie Ann Foley, the woman in question repeats over and over and OVER that she had a medical exemption card and could not wear a mask.  Yes, that old (false) chestnut. The officer told the officer over and over and OVER again that card was invalid. She had to wear a mask or get off the train. Those were her only two choices. 

Foley, of course, is filming the whole time, as she surely wanted to get attention to jazz up her sad little pathetic life. Well, she got it! Her video rocketed to the top of the charts on Reddit's Public Freakout page.

And what a freakout it is! 

The ever-patient Kwok spends more than five minutes telling Foley to put on a mask, only to receive a constant stream of abuse from Foley, at ever rising decibel levels. 

Kwok finally moves in to arrest Foley

Foley, for her part, informs Kwok that a male officer cannot arrest or touch a woman, which is a novel legal position. Kwok patiently perseveres, remaining calm even as Foley kicks him in the nuts. Well, that won't look good in court, Valerie Ann! 

She also screams and yells obscenities and calls Kwok a pig. Over the din of Foley's caterwauling, you can barely here other passengers encouraging Kwok to keep at it to get her off the train. 

Again, the video is totally cringe worthy and totally worth the watch so go the link and check it out. I'm just glad Foley is on the opposite side of the continent from me. 

The Daily Dot says Foley got a $460 fine and still faces charges of assaulting a cop. 

Stating the obvious, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said:

"We discourage anyone who is unhappy with the Provincial Health Order from resorting to serious criminal offenses such as obstructing or assaulting a police officer, as this could result in criminal charges, which can have prolonged negative impacts for the person that will far exceed the end of the pandemic."

True, but not causing a fuss and getting arrested means they won't get to play the martyr.
