Norway Hits Back Hilariously At Super Bowl EV Vehicle "Competition" With The United States

Norway, in a hilarious response to a Superbowl ad about
American EVs, is sorry, not sorry about their advantagesl
One of the ads that played during the Super Bowl was one that starred Will Ferrell touting General Motors' growing line of electric vehicles, better known as EVs.

Norway almost immediately, and hilariously clapped back with their own video. More on that in a moment, but first the backstory. The two videos are at the bottom of this post.

As Car and Driver notes, the ad essentially declared war on Norway. "In a 60-second spot that ran during the Buccaneers' mauling of Kansas City, Ferrell discovered Norway is the world's leader in battery-electric vehicle sales per capital. Refusing to let America be disrespected like that, he punches a globe, grabs his Cadillac Lyriq, and drafts Kenan Thompson and Awkwafina in a Hummer EV to meet him in Norway for the beatdown."

Because, you know, America is #1! Or something.

This "war" on Norway doesn't hurt anybody, since Americans are geographically challenged.  Ferrell ends up in Switzerland and the other two find themselves in snowy Finland.

The Norwegian response begins with apparently an alarmed professor who tells a colleague, "The Americans are coming, and Will Farrell does not look happy.......We have to make a public apology and we have to get rid of anything else that might make Will envy us in any way."

So she creates a video message to Farrell, and his fellow Americans.  It does not go well. At least if our professor was trying to get us not to envy Norway.  In her message to America "We shouldn't have become the leading country in the world when it comes to electrical vehicles without checking with you first"

The problem is other reasons for envying Norway slip out.  Like the fact that college students there don't have to pay tuition; their research on clean hydropower that reuses and recycles batteries; free health care, generous social security and one year paid maternity leave.

Maybe I should move to Norway, I dunno.

First video below is the Will Ferrell GM ad, ad the second one is the Norwegian video, which is worth the watch, for sure.

Now, the Norwegian one:
