A VERY Poor Loser In Icelandic Game Show

The host of a televised game show for high school students
looking not very pleased as a contestant on the losing team
performs an epic tantrum.
People you see on game shows tend to put on a brave face for the cameras when they lose, because, it just looks tacky to throw a fit.

Plus, if you have a glass half full kind of attitude, at least you qualified to be on the show. That's something. You lost, but essentially you were a finalist. Not bad!

This attitude did not hold sway very well for one person at a televised game show for high school students in Iceland.

You don't understand the language, but you sure as hell can tell what's going on.

The show is called Gettu Betur  Our hero was one of three people on the blue team, and there was a like number of people on the red team.

The video, which you can see at the bottom of this post, appears to be near the end of the show.  Someone on the red team just provided a correct answer and our friendly blonde host smiles and acknowledges this correct answer.

One of three teens on the blue team absolutely LOSES it. He throws a glass of water and tips over his podium, grabs his teammate's glass of water and throws that and then storms off the set.

Our friendly blonde host suddenly looks much less friendly. You can tell she is pissed.  But she holds her tongue. You can hear banging off screen, presumably the kid continuing his tantrum.

While this kid's behavior seems obnoxious, it seems that Iceland is rather kind nation.  As Yahoo! News reports, people in Iceland are rather sympathetic to the kid.

"The general reaction among Icelanders is one of empathy and care for a delicate young man who couldn't handle the situation," one person tweeted.

I guess I can feel the sympathy too.  Disappointments hurt, as we all know. Additionally, acting out like this in a very public way has to be incredibly embarrassing. It's on video, so he'll never live it down.

Maybe I'm contributing to that embarrassment, but at least it's a tutorial on how not to act on camera, no matter how foul a mood you might be in:
